The Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products Program is one of the most prestigious sustainability certifications for products around the world and across industries.
IFCO was the first-ever provider of food-safe reusable packaging containers to achieve Cradle to Cradle Certified at the Silver level in 2021 for the European line of Lift Lock RPCs – optimized for fruit and vegetables, meat and baked goods. As the certification is only valid for two years, IFCO completed the highly demanding recertification process in August 2023. A key criterion for recertification is the ability to demonstrate improvements to the product and processes during that two-year period.
Once again, the European Lift Lock RPC portfolio has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver (Version 3.1). In addition to the overall Silver recertification, the Lift Lock range was certified Gold in the assessment category of Material Reutilization, and in the Social Fairness category the IFCO rating advanced from Silver to Gold.

In 2023, after undergoing the rigorous recertification process, the RPCs were again awarded Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Silver level. This prestigious certification positively assessed our product standards and manufacturing processes according to five performance categories of sustainability, covering Material Health, Material Reutilization, Renewable Energy and Carbon Management, Water Stewardship, and Social Fairness. Overall, we achieved the Silver level. In Material Reutilization, we were awarded Gold.
