For the second consecutive year, Brambles Limited has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI), which recognizes companies that lead their industries in corporate social responsibility (CSR). Brambles operates primarily through the CHEP and IFCO brands and is a provider of sustainable supply-chain solutions.

The DJSI is based on an analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change mitigation, supply-chain standards and labor practices. In the Index, Brambles strongest performance was in the codes of conduct and corporate governance categories. Brambles also scored well for climate strategy and environmental policy.

Brambles’ Head of Sustainability, Juan Jose Freijo, said: “Brambles is built on principles that are inherently sustainable. We are focused on building a long-term, sustainable business that serves our customers, employees and shareholders and the communities in which we operate.

“Our continued inclusion in the DJSI shows that we are making excellent progress on our journey. Thanks to our business model and our continuous sustainability efforts, Brambles is leading the way in creating sustainable supply chains to better support our customers. This is the reward for the huge collective work of all our employees.”

The DJSI includes 317 global companies identified as leaders in the areas of sustainable economic, environmental and social performance. The DJSI analyses the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index to find the top 10% for sustainability in each industry. Brambles was included in DJSI’s Commercial & Professional Services category.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to the world’s biggest manufacturers and retailers, many of which are drawn to Brambles because of its expertise and leadership in this area. Many Brambles’ customers, including Danone, Mondelēz, Nestlé, Unilever, Woolworths and Coca-Cola, are also recognized in the DJSI.
