of thriving circularity
As we celebrate our 30-year anniversary, it is rewarding to see that the same environmentally conscious mindset that drove our founders to find a more sustainable solution to fresh produce packaging has only grown – and continues to be the main driver of our business.
During FY22, we have been able to take our sustainable solution to over 30 countries: delivering close to 2 billion RPCs that replace single-use packaging. Thanks to the passion and drive of our employees, we have been able to provide sustainability benefits to our customers at a scale that was unthinkable 30 years ago.
I am extremely grateful to every IFCO employee and to our partners for embracing our ESG program and contributing to the advancement of our 2025 goals.
Vice President ESG
Business, for good. It’s been at the heart of our company and in the soul of our people since the very beginning, when IFCO started our Reusable Packaging Container (RPC) pooling system way back in 1992. Daring to dream differently, we knew there was a better way to deliver fresh food.
Fast-forward to 2022: celebrating 30 years of redefining the fresh grocery supply chain with the largest network of any other RPC company and empowering thousands of growers, producers and retailers to be more sustainable.
Today, we are the world’s leading supplier of RPCs, setting the gold standard for packaging as a service. And as a leader, we believe that with constant innovation, limitless empathy and partnerships rooted in trust, we can achieve great things. Disrupt the status quo. Reimagine old ways of thinking. Change the world even. One crate at a time.
Our ESG Strategy
Thriving in the circular economy
The sustainability spotlight is on business more than ever before. Consumers, investors, and partners across our value chain are sharpening their focus on ESG performance.
As the leader in our industry, we are going beyond business as usual. Through our Thriving in a Circular Economy strategy, we’ve set bold goals that foster the environmental benefits of our business model and address the issues that matter most to our business, stakeholders, employees and communities.
It’s how we’re carving a sustainable, resilient and profitable path – with our head in the clouds, and feet on the ground – and contributing to a thriving world.
