Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth during the 2024 Fruit Logistica trade show in Berlin.
Your presence made our booth come alive with vibrant conversations, intriguing questions, and a peek into the exciting innovations we have in store. Our team left the event buzzing with positive energy and inspiration, thanks to all of you.
If you missed out on the fun, fear not! You can still catch a glimpse of the action with our Sales Director, Marco Geremia giving a virtual tour.
At the centre of attention was our newly-launched reusable plastic pallet Dora. Dora is a reusable, robust plastic Euro pallet, measuring 1,200 x 800 x 150 mm.
Equipped with anti-slip skids and an anti-slip top deck, Dora is the perfect companion for our reusable containers and various boxes.
She’s designed to optimize the entire supply chain, ensuring smooth loading and delivering excellence all the way to the shelves. No wonder she attracted so much attention at our booth!
Perhaps our favourite moment was when Bobby Banana himself paid us a visit. Bobby couldn’t resist a selfie with our legendary Banana Lift Lock crate. This RPC is a game-changer in preserving the freshness of bananas.
It is equipped with an optimal ventilation system and a clever stacking design tailored exclusively for bananas, reducing food waste and prolonging shelf life.
In today’s world, smart solutions are ubiquitous, and for good reason. By leveraging technology to our advantage, we generate smart reports, implement track and trace systems, enable real-time temperature tracking, and deploy smart alerts. This transparency in the supply chain greatly contributes to reducing food waste, and asset losses, ultimately minimizing environmental impact. These capabilities are made possible by implementing multi-level solutions, including GPS, BLE, and RFID technologies.
Customer feedback has underscored the importance of two key features for enhancing supply chain efficiency: temperature tracking and real-time alerts. Producers, such as cauliflower growers from Canada, have emphasized the critical nature of temperature monitoring throughout the supply chain.
They seek assurance in identifying responsibility for spoilage incidents, highlighting the significance of cold chain monitoring in preserving product quality. Additionally, customers have expressed a strong demand for real-time alerts to promptly address deviations from set parameters, such as temperature fluctuations or crate location discrepancies. These features provide valuable data insights and enable proactive decision-making, ultimately reducing food waste and mitigating financial losses for stakeholders.
At IFCO, minimizing food waste is at the core of our corporate mission. We’re committed to turning this promise into action, which is why we proudly sponsored a volunteering event organized by Berliner Tafel. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers joined forces to collect the left-over fresh produce into the IFCO RPCs. The fruits and vegetables were then sorted, with the ripest specimens processed into preserves, and donated to a local shelter for those in need. Here are some standout stats from the event:
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the volunteers and the IFCO team who contributed to this impactful initiative. Together, we have made a real difference in the fight against food waste.
If you couldn’t make it to the event, don’t worry! Reach out to us to schedule a one-on-one consultation and discuss your logistics needs. We’re here to turn your sustainable fresh produce supply chain dream into reality!
