IFCO SYSTEMS, the global leader in Reusable Plastic Containers (RPCs) for fresh products, announced the line-up of activities at PMA Fresh Summit to be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans October 18-20, 2013. The themes for IFCO’s booth at this year’s show focus on kids nutrition, fresh produce merchandising and sustainability.

“The PMA Fresh Summit is a great opportunity for the IFCO team to engage our industry partners and help support our communities. This year we’re showing some great new solutions for growers and retailers that will help them build sales while reducing costs, and we’re driving the message of increasing our children’s produce consumption in an entertaining fashion with Kid Chef Eliana,” said Hillary Femal, Vice President of Global Marketing for IFCO.

The IFCO booth features examples of Fresh Market Advantage™ merchandising solutions, which offer versatile messaging, branding and display options for RPCs designed to increase fresh produce sales. The recently launched website ChooseReuse.org, which was developed to educate consumers on the environmental benefits of RPCs, is also highlighted in the booth.

Kid Chef Eliana de Las Casas’s mission is to educate and encourage kids to become culinary explorers, Her first cookbook, Eliana Cooks! Recipes for Creative Kids was released in October 2010, and her second cookbook, Cool Kids Cook: Louisiana, debuted in Spring 2013 (Pelican Publishing) and received a Parents’ Choice Approved award. Eliana was named one of the “Top 10 Most Famous Kid Critics and Cooks” in the world by The Daily Meal and has a global weekly radio show called “Cool Kids Cook” on the Voice America Kids network, part of the Voice America network with over 9 million monthly listeners. She does cooking demonstrations, book signings, and numerous media appearances and interviews including “The Wendy Williams Show.”
To further its commitment to childhood produce consumption, IFCO is also donating five salad bars to schools as part of its continuing support of the Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools program. This effort was launched to significantly increase fresh produce in schools across the country until every child has the choice of healthy fruits and vegetables every day.

IFCO handles all RPC logistics, from manufacturing to cleaning to re-entry into the supply chain. After retail use, IFCO RPCs are folded, collected and shipped back to one of IFCO’s service facilities, where they are sanitized and prepared for re-use.
